Why you'll love it

Escape the concrete jungle for the real jungle to channel your inner Tarzan or Jane in Rwanda while staying at anything-but-humble luxurious accommodation for wellness and relaxation. You'll really ape-reciate this tour!

The Highlights Reel

There are only a few gorillas left on our planet. Therefore, the chance to come face-to-face with them is something few people have the opportunity to do. If you love an exclusive experience of adventure, wellness, and soul-stirring moments in the jungle, then this Rwandan tour is for you.

You'll start your once-in-a-lifetime adventure in the capital city of Kigali for one night, where you'll get a taste of the local culture and food before continuing to Akagera National Park, the only Big 5 safari park in the country, for four nights. Then it's time for the big scene, you gorilla trekking through Volcanoes National Park!

Home to some of the last remaining mountain gorillas, it's here that the movie Gorillas in the Mist was filmed. After all the excitement and finding your zen in the heart of the jungle for three nights, you'll finish your journey in Kigali again for a final taste of the Rwandan way of life.

Kigali

Kigali is Rwanda's capital city with so much culture and history to explore. You'll start your journey here for an easy stopover after arriving at Kigali International Airport and giving you a taste of the local life.

Kigali is also very safe, beautiful, and home to friendly faces! Here we suggest you meander the streets, visit the colourful markets, and, if time allows, have a leisurely lunch at the Hôtel Mille Collines.

Akagera National Park

Akagera National Park is Central Africa's biggest protected wetland and the last refuge for Rwanda's savannah-adapted species. What does that mean exactly? Well, it's a wildlife sanctuary today but used to be near destroyed after the 1994 genocide.

This rags to riches story is inspiring and shows us that Mother Nature truly is miraculous. Here you can see some of the best wildlife in Rwanda. In fact, it's the only national park where you can see the Big 5! It's also a quick two-hour drive from your first stop, Kigali, so is the ideal next stop on your journey.

Volcanoes National Park

Okay, let's get to the good part! Well, they're all good. No, really good. But gorilla trekking sort of takes the cake. And Volcanoes National Park is one of the best places to go gorilla trekking, home to roughly half of the world's wild mountain gorillas; it's the VIP destination of gorilla trekking.

Here you'll hike through the steep forested volcanic hills until you come face to face with the gorillas. You can usually sit and watch them for a full hour, and they will drive you to tears and have you in stitches in that hour with their relatable human-like behaviour.
