What is there to see and do in South Africa?

So so much! South Africa is one of our most requested destinations because it's like a world rolled into one country!

In South Africa, you can look forward to a luxury Big 5 safari in Kruger National Park, explore the many cultural wonders, mountains and beaches in Cape Town, and enjoy fine dining and wine tasting in the Cape Winelands.

You can combine a bush and beach getaway or go on the ultimate road trip along the Garden Route, where you can enjoy malaria-free safaris and plenty of adventure activities.

What is there to see and do in Southern Africa?

In Southern Africa, you can experience many adventures! From the remote yet wildlife-rich Okavango Delta to the thundering Victoria Falls, the melting pot of cultures and entertainment in Cape Town, and a luxury Big 5 safari in Kruger National Park.

Or if you want to experience otherwordly sparsely populated by humans yet filled to the brim with animals Etosha wildlife paradise or deserts of Damaraland, then Namibia is for you.

It's also easy to combine a Southern Africa tour with an island holiday at destinations like the Seychelles, Mauritius, Maldives, Madagascar and Mozambique. Phew, now that's a list! What are you waiting for?

What is there to see and do in East Africa?

East Africa is a safari and gorilla trekking paradise with tropical beaches in between. In Tanzania and Kenya, the world-famous Serengeti and Maasai Mara play host to the Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest, zebra, and other animals cross the plains searching for greener pastures. Here you can partake in many exhilarating activities like hot air balloon safaris and cultural experiences with local Maasai.

If gorilla trekking has always been on your bucket list (and if it hasn't been, you should add it right now!), then you should add Rwanda, Uganda or Congo to your itinerary. Want to end your tour through East Africa on a relaxing note? Zanzibar is the perfect final chapter where you can kick back on pristine sandy shores and sip on bottomless cocktails.

What does the name "Veldskoen" mean?

"Veldskoen" is an Afrikaans word, one of South Africa's eleven official languages, and when translated literally, it means "Field Shoe". Therefore, this shoe is made to take on the wide-open spaces Africa is so known and loved for! If you find it a bit tricky to pronounce the word, use the slang version "Vellies", which rolls of the tongue a bit easier than "Veldskoen". These shoes will take you places, just like the name suggests!

Where were my pair of Veldskoen made?

That very pair you've got in your hands (or on your feet) right now was handmade in a sustainable factory in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Fun fact, KwaZulu-Natal is actually well-known as a shoe manufacturing hub and export their shoes throughout the world!

How can I keep my Veldskoen Shoes in tip-top shape while on my Veldskoen Travel safari?

Don't worry, these Veldskoen Shoes were made for walking, and that's just what they'll do! However, it's always a good idea to give them a little bit of TLC. Depending on the Veldskoen model you have, here's how to keep it looking its best for years (and many more adventures!) to come.

- Heritage shoes and Chelsea boots:
These Veldskoen shoes are made from suede leather. You can remove any dirt using a soft cloth. If you need to get rid of stubborn dirt, try lightly brushing them with a suede wire brush. We advise using a suede/nubuck cleaning product to clean every once in a while. Please note that you should not wash your Veldskoen shoes with water. If they do get very wet, let them dry in the sun. Scrunch newspaper into balls and stuff them inside to speed up the drying process.

- Chukka and Woodstock shoes:
The Chukka boots and Woodstock boots are made from strong, full-grain, oily waxy leather. Therefore, you'll notice that they'll soften and darken with age. We recommend caring for them with any good quality Leather Cream.
